ACS sponsors International Conferences bi-annually which bring together the world's leading marine biologists, environmental writers, artists, government officials, and ocean explorers. ACS's 11th International Conference was held on November 14-18, 2008 in Monterey, California. The tireless efforts of those individuals are essential in formulating our conservation actions, updating our teaching aids, and refining our educational programs. At the conferences, scientists debate their latest theories, concerned citizens explore a broad range of cultural, political, and technological issues, and gifted artists display cetacean-themed masterpieces. We work to promote discussion and thought about the role and conservation of whales in an ever-changing world, and leave attendees motivated to work together for the good of the whales American Cetacean Society conferences are open to everyone - you don't need to be in the field to participate. So come, be energized and enlightened, and immerse yourself in "Whales in a Changing World". We've retained information on past conferences for your browsing pleasure.
